Job Description
The CT Technologist, under direct supervision, utilizes computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities:- The CT Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adhere to radiation safety measures under the supervision of the CT Scan Supervisor. Specific duties may include but are not limited to:
- Accurately interpret a Radiologist protocol and apply attention to detail
- Administer contrast material both oral and IV
- Prepare and operate CT scan equipment which includes the Siemens Force (dual energy), Definition and Sensation scanners. Also prepare post processing utilizing Syngo Via and Visage.
- Ability to position patient to capture appropriate images
- Send images PACS for review and read by the Radiologist
- Troubleshoot equipment errors and work with engineers
- Follow infection control and National Patient Safety Guidelines Demonstrate an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology and medical terminology.
- Possess the ability to be the primary liaison between patients and radiologists and other members of the support team.
- Ability to be professional and use ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Participate in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills for continued competence
- Ability to work as a team member
Qualifications
- Completion of a two year approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Current MA License
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and CT certification
- Current CPR/BLS Certification required
- One year full time experience as a CT Scan Technologist
