Spark your curiosity and ignite your career at The Lighthouse. We are seeking an experienced, multi-disciplinary Director, who specializes in helping large-scale organizations move at the speed of small, nimble teams. Our team is launching a software product business within KPMG's Consulting practice. In this effort, we are both leveraging existing capabilities in digital, engineering, and AI, and cultivating new talent and functions required to successfully identify and validate ideas within our product portfolio, develop and sell stand-alone software, and run a unique operating model tied to software subscription revenue and support. This Director position requires someone who is passionate about pushing the envelope of organizational inertia in order to drive change while bringing along critical stakeholders. The pace will be fast, and the progress measured in both smaller tactical increments and also over the longer horizon of KPMG evolution. This individual will report directly to the Managing Director responsible for running the Lighthouse product initiative. This role will directly shape the vision for how products can and should exist within a much larger consulting operation; translate that vision into specific transformational steps that can be achieved by the direct product team and connected stakeholders, including for areas such as marketing, sales, finance, pricing, legal, and risk management; and have specific responsibility for assigned nascent functional areas that must be cultivated quickly in order to enable the launch of our first few software products. Over time, this role will evolve into a broader operational leader for the portfolio, and possibly for a specific product team in that portfolio, based on alignment of interest and domain expertise.Responsibilities:Design the commercialization model required to build and operate a new software business, including functions such as marketing, sales, finance, pricing, etc., and the path for developing these capabilities at various levels of required maturity based on the number and type of products in the portfolio; early stages may lean heavily on internal partnerships with other KPMG business units that have relevant capabilities and capacity to support a fledgling software business; will work directly with counterparts in KPMG business process groups (e.g., legal, risk) to devise and instantiate v1+ of the new product operating model including roles and responsibilities, approval processes, etc.

Help lead the shaping and recruiting of the product portfolio team, including additional transformation design and execution resources that will directly report into this position, as well as those in areas such as product management, scrum/agile coaching, project management, UI/UX strategy and design, etc.

Manage all governance activities related to the product initiative as one of the high-profile technology investments within the Consulting practice; establish, reconcile, optimize, and report on budgets at the portfolio level; track investment and development pipeline activity and develop upward communications on progress against milestones, leveraging detailed team tracking available in Azure DevOps and other tools; develop and negotiate contracts and partnerships with development vendors, technology partners, and other third parties.

Work with our counterparts in Lighthouse Technology Operations to devise a modern approach to software design and development that leverages existing teams that support/deliver client engagements, reside in our Advisory Technology Office, and/or deliver other technology platforms, solutions, and enablers within Consulting; define processes that effectively connect these teams in pursuit of streamlined, invent-it-only-once development of new technology components, architectures, capabilities, and infrastructure environments.

Build trust and effective relationships with peers/cross-functional teams in the Lighthouse product group (by mapping challenges and opportunities), and influence senior leaders' ability to communicate the product vision, strategy, goals, status, and customer impact; influence cross-functional decisions among stakeholders within the Lighthouse product group without direct authority.

Assist as needed in managing projects on specific product development teams.

Qualifications:BS degree in a business-related field such as Economics, Finance, Marketing, etc.; MBA a plus; 12+ years relevant experience including meaningful time with a large enterprise driving tech-related transformation, managing a business, marketing technology products, and/or developing SaaS products; experience with AI/machine learning a plus.

Experience must include diversity of interactions across multiple business functions and with external vendors, especially technology vendors.

Experience in building and communicating strategic narratives to senior management, designing and implementing organizational changes required to achieve objectives, and quickly learning new domains to become the de facto 'expert in the room.'

Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and dynamic environment; comfortable with navigating and helping others to navigate ambiguity; able to distill complex objectives into discrete, tangible, effective elements in order to continually make progress.

Detail-oriented, unfazed by complexity, and committed to driving impact; ability to participate in technical discussions and help make technical trade-offs, especially as relates to team design, processes, and expectations; excellent intuition into stakeholder and peer motivations and styles; demonstrated success in creating high-performing teams.

Strong initiative and people leadership, project management skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities; excellent verbal and written communication skills; team player, with the ability to effectively interact with and build relations at all levels; strong communication and collaboration skills, to build consensus, drive operational decisions with stakeholder groups, and work across functions and influence senior leaders.
