Job Description
The
Professional Registered Nurse (RN)possesses and applies the skills and knowledge necessary for the delivery and management of patient care from admission through discharge. Is knowledgeable of current trends in healthcare including but not limited to: advances in technology, pharmacology and treatment care modalities.The RN serves as a patient and family advocate while facilitating a cooperative and collaborative environment among all health care providers.Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU):The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center is a 40 bed level 3 nursery and a destination for newborns thatrequire complex care.We are family centered and focus on the care that each member of the family needs when an infant is born prematurely, has a congenital anomaly, or is has a complex condition.We provide advanced treatments including brain cooling, the latest ventilation techniques, and sophisticated surgical approaches (such as mandibular distraction) not currently available elsewhere.Highly skilled and committed nurses and physicians treat every infant as if they were their own while also encouraging parent and family involvement. Family-centered rounds provides family members the opportunity to meet regularly with the multidisciplinary team of neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, occupational and physical therapists, nutritionists, pediatric surgeons and other experts involved in the treatment plan. It's all part of our goal to build a lasting relationship with parents and their child.Additional Information
