Job Description

This position supports the Division of Gastroenterology. The Project Coordinator serves as the link between administrative staff, fellows and faculty, and with peers and colleagues outside of these areas, ensuring high quality multi-direction communications The coordinator provides a wide range of project management and administrative assistance to the division including thefellowship program,

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the division's fellowship program by working directly with the Program Director
  • Helps coordinate interviews with physician applicants into the fellowship program.
  • Compiles and curates content for the quarterly newsletter.
  • Provides administrative support for the different areas with the division such as the ambulatory clinic and endoscopy unit.
  • Works with Clinic Director on quality improvement projects.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

Qualifications

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience in project management
  • Ability to successfully plan and organize an event
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with researchers, staff, administrators and customers. Outstanding customer service skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage work flow independently. Ability to prioritize quickly and appropriately.
  • Must be able to multitask, working on multiple studies and protocols.
  • Requires meticulous attention to detail with excellent data management and organizational skills.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelordegree required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Two or more years experience in an academic or medical research setting highly desirable.

An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above, may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Consistent with a normal office work environment. Work requires frequent continuous typing/computer keying, telephone use and sitting for extended periods.
