Research Associate, Cellular/Molecular Biology

Company overview: A groundbreaking biotechnology company in Boston, MA, they are addressing many unfulfilled medical needs that stretch from the brain/immune/gut (BIG) axis. The companies research group is looking for a driven and experienced candidate for the position of Research Associate, Cellular/Molecular Biology, to be apart of the development and production of novel gene and cell therapeutics.

Role Overview: The fortunate candidate will contribute to assay development and experimental design and be able to perform a variety of cellular and molecular techniques that include protein-based assays, cloning, and genetic manipulation of human cell lines and primary cell cultures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete and establish protein characterization assays (e.g., Western blot, ELISA)
  • Plasmid DNA cloning and amplification
  • Control and manipulate mammalian cell cultures (e.g., transfection, transduction)
  • Work independently and with a team
  • Contribute in relevant scientific literature

Job Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in biological sciences with 2+ years research experience
  • Some experience with molecular cloning techniques
  • Experience with protein analysis and immunoassays
  • Experience with mammalian tissue culture, incl. cell transfection/transduction
  • Knowledge with BSL2 laboratory safety practices
