Senior Research Associate Woburn, Ma

Position Summary The ideal candidate will join the Midstream Process Development team to collaborate cross-functionally between the Upstream and Downstream Process Development teams. They should have experience with mammalian cell culture and in upstream development and knowledge of, or to learn, clarification, TFF, and membrane chromatography. Responsibilities Able to troubleshooting the process and equipment when needed with associate scientists in the lab is expected. Design and apply DOE studies to develop, refine, optimize and characterize cell culture and vector production processes and relevant purification unit operations. Contribute to development of platforms/programs to enhance AAV manufacturing technologies, capabilities and processes (such as media development, bioreactor fed-batch and perfusion process development, optimization and scale-up, clarification development, and early purification development). Qualifications BS in Biochemical engineering or Biological Sciences with 2+ years, or MS with 1+ year of industrial experience in mammalian cell culture process development. A plus to have Experience with small- or large-scale single-use bioreactor operations, and technology transfer to pilot plant or cGMP manufacturing for clinical stage products is preferred. a plus to have experience with development of viral vectors, live viral vaccines, producer cell lines, high throughput or disposable bioreactors, culture media development, or perfusion unit operations is preferred.
