Job OverviewThe Server Administrator Level I works in conjunction with the Sr. Systems Administrator and shares responsibility for the specification, selection, installation, configuration, system management, and operation of all server hardware and software for the company. The Server Administrator Level I works as part of the Information Technology Infrastructure Team to maintain all server-related assets, applications, and services. The company is looking for a self-motivated, results-driven Server Administrator Level 1 to assist the team with maintenance, monitoring, and support of technology infrastructure components, in addition to providing 2nd and 3rd level application and infrastructure support to all business users and internal developers while applying the highest standards of customer service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the resolution of technical support issues for company
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot physical and virtual server infrastructure
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows/Linux server environment
  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot network-based services: File and Print services, O365 Email, Azure Active Directory, DHCP/DNS/WINS
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Dell/EMC Avamar and Data Domain backups.
  • Provide and maintain documentation of backup processes and retention periods
  • Provide Tier 2 & 3 support for customers and technical staff
  • Prepare and maintain written documentation of the company’s server and application environments
  • Work with vendors in the process of troubleshooting escalated incidents
  • Work with other Server Administrators implementing new computer technologies
  • Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attend any required meetings
  • Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues. May resolve problems within established practices
  • Work with other Server Administrators implementing new server technologies
  • Work with vendors in the research, development, and implementation of server technologies
  • Provide and test backup and disaster recovery processes and procedures
  • Work with department leaders implementing new software and hardware technologies
  • Develop and provide training, and technical documentation for Support staff members Supervision Exercised
  • Provide an overview of responsibilities as well as the number and titles of all persons supervised. (Provide a range if numbers can vary.)
  • This role will not supervise others.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience of 3-5 years of experience
Hardware: Dell/EMC Unity All Flash Storage, Dell/EMC PowerEdge Servers RecoverPoint Appliances, Data Domain, Cisco MDS Fiber Switches Software: VMware ESXi 6.x and 7.x, VMware Site Recovery Manager, vCenter, Avamar backups, Active Directory/Azure AD, vRealize Monitoring, O365
  • Strong understanding of Group Policy, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Group Policy and O365
  • General understanding of cloud technologies – Azure, AWS and Google Cloud Platform
  • General understanding of networking and routing
  • TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, WAN, LAN, VoIP, WLAN
