Why you'll love this job: The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, detailing technical requirements, crafting, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and improvement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that tackle sophisticated business problems. Your Responsibilities
- Develop applications in compliance with functional and non-functional requirements
- Designs and implements UI solutions following DTCC's defined architectural guidelines and control standards
- Analyzes and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost-effective solution for a new or existing design
- Handles and triages application issue escalations as well as able to collaborate closely with clients / operations
- Proficient with agile development practices like Scrum, Kanban
- Provides support to functional and performance QA teams as part of each agile sprint.
- Construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional and non-functional requirements (code coverage).
- Follow design and code standards, contributing to continuous improvement discussions
- Build and maintain system documentation
- Align risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
- Contribute to the design of components or individual programs
- Provide production support for applications as needed
- Work with domain experts reviewing technical designs and specifications
- Apply different software development methodologies dependent on project needs
- Work with peers to mature ways of working, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
- Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; raises appropriately

- Minimum of 5 years of design and development of external/internal facing web-based applications.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Able to demonstrate capabilities in the following subject areas:
- Object oriented design patterns
- Front-end web UI-tier (Backbone, Angular, Java)
- Cloud native technologies
- TDD & BDD
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Tomcat/J2EE servlet container and AWS cloud services
- Hands-on DevOps experience using tools like Git, Bitbucket, Cloud bees/Jenkins, Maven, Ansible
- Strong experience in developing, refactoring and re-engineering web applications using REST, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, JS, Handlebars, JSP, JSON, XML and Html
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating system and shell scripting
- Knowledge of Red hat OpenShift Container Platform is an advantage
