Job Description

The division of Rheumatology in the Department of Medicine at Tufts Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine studies the factors that effect clinical care and their outcomes, including developing and evaluating treatment strategies, decision aids, computer-based systems, and the databases for practice and policy, all aimed at improving clinical care and health in patients with kidney diseases. This position reports to the Principal Investigator.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The student will be responsible for assisting the research assistant with setting up protocol for the Clinical Trial, making forms and piloting them, creating databases, and assisting with sample collection and processing and creating reports. She/he will also help out with various logistical issues in a clinical trial and miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Position interacts with staff physicians, researchers, fellows, and research assistants within the division.

Qualifications

  • College degree and/or experience accepted.
  • Prior experience in clinical/health services and exercise research preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to prioritize quickly and appropriately essential.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office or the like and bibliographic software.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
