The Windows-Virtualization Senior Principal Engineer performs day to day administrative support for Windows, Virtualization, and Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop (VDI) environments including the implementation of new solutions to increase efficiencies, optimize and expand service offerings for both on premise and AWS Responsibilities:
- Executes technically challenging ideas and drives a successful outcome
- Designs, deploys, and maintains large-scale enterprise level services
- Leads projects in terms of requirements gatherings, scope, and implementation
- Assists on making key decisions to drive the technical direction
- Identifies areas for process improvement
- Engages and maintains relationships with vendors
- Maintain a highly available server infrastructure by applying operating system updates and patches, managing configuration changes, and general systems performance tuning and administration.
- Analyze and resolve complex software and hardware problems and ensure that the correct processes are followed in change management for tracking and reproducibility as well as qualifying new services.
- Assist in SOX audits
- 8+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required
- Extensive experience in VMWare vSphere technologies and SRM
- Experience with Amazon Web Services
- Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2016 & 2019
- Experience working with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop or Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops
- Experience managing an Active Directory environment, including user administration and group policy management
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, technical skills, and analytical skills a must
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and be able to adapt to changing business needs
- Must be able to work well with cross functional teams and be able to work effectively with all levels within an organization
- Working with Amazon Web Services cloud environment a plus
- Experience with Cisco UCS environment a plus
- Experience with HPE server hardware a plus
- Windows failover clustering & load balancing a plus
- Working knowledge of networking (DNS, VLANs, routing)
- Experience in large enterprise Microsoft Windows infrastructures 1,000+ servers
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to participate in on-call support rotation
- Working in a Research, Pharmaceutical, and FDA regulated environment is a plus
