Job Description Summary InsuraMatch is an independent agency company, owned by Travelers Insurance, that uses an innovative online platform to help consumers compare offerings from more than 40 carriers across the United States. With a focus on personal insurance, InsuraMatch offers overage for auto, home, boat, motorcycle, renters, umbrella, and flood, among others. InsuraMatch operates independently and manages all carrier partnerships.

InsuraMatch is looking to hire a versatile Systems Engineer to support a variety of applications, systems, and platforms that provide acquisition targeting, retention modeling projects, predictive analytics, call routing, data architecture, and in-depth data analyses. In this role, you will have a direct impact on the growth of this business and interact with senior executives and be part of a team driving the profit and customer growth of this growing insurance agency.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Actively participate as a member of the InsuraMatch team in collaborating, conceiving and developing scalable, performant, secure solutions
  • Support and contribute to the improvement of the development process
  • Provide tier one support for cloud and physical networks, servers, operating systems, and processes
  • Monitor, manage, and administer Serverless, Linux, and Window computer platforms
  • Own critical aspects of our technology operations in areas including Production, deployment process automation, monitoring, and security
  • Provide expert level design and operational practices for AWS
  • Ensure alignment between security architecture frameworks, standards, and overall IT cloud strategy
  • Provide training on various cloud security and cloud technologies and mentor engineers on these topics
  • Create and maintain build scripts, templates and other artifacts for the Infrastructure stack
  • Support the migration of applications to the cloud infrastructure and assist in the analysis, tuning, and re-architecture when necessary to ensure adherence to business requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent work or military experience
  • 2+ years of active systems administration

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge
  • Familiar with Insurance product and services
  • System administration experience in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments
  • Demonstrated experience working with AWS to provide highly-available, secure, and reliable services that take advantage of AWS's catalog of pre-existing solutions where possible
  • AWS Solutions Architect and AWS Security Architect a plus
  • Deep experience with LAMP platforms
  • Expertise with MySQL relational databases
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Experience moving platforms and services to server-less infrastructure
  • Knowledge of information security best practices
  • Exposure to PII regulations and controls

Job Specific Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Exposure to the next generation AWS security stack
  • Ability to script in Python and Bash, ability to read Node.js
  • Understanding of SQL query and schema design
  • Familiarity with Serverless Computing principles and practices
  • Detail orientation - attention and desire to work on large data "crunching" projects.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a proven ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Creative thinker with the ability to synthesize information from various sources and apply that information to concrete business problems
