Job Description AIR Worldwide is looking to add a Software Development Team Lead in Boston, MA. As a part of the Software Development team, you will act as a liaison between product owners, architects, development team members and analysts to build and maintain enterprise-level software solutions. As a Team Lead, you will act as a player and a coach (70/30 split), providing support to new project initiatives, designing, developing and enhancing existing systems. You will have "Solid line" reporting relationships with 4-5 development staff members and will be responsible for the work, products and status communications from that team. Deep understanding of smart-client design and superior development and design ability with strong analytical skills is key to this role.

As a Team Lead, you will:
  • Lead a team of developers in creating well-architected solutions
  • Maintain in-depth expertise in product, technology, architecture and design
  • Ensure SDG Project commitments are met on schedule
  • Manage the execution of project planning process within SDG
  • Management responsibilities for the team include setting goals and objectives; providing technical leadership and mentoring junior staff; and conducting performance reviews and assisting with staff development. This includes working with HR on staffing decisions and handling disciplinary issues.
  • Ensure coding adheres to best practices and overall technical aspects of the project are developed meeting highest quality standards.
  • Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan.
Qualifications

What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, EE, CS or Software Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in development of commercial-grade software products.
  • 2+ years in leading either full development lifecycle and leading technical team.
  • 5+ years of working with Microsoft technology stack, C#, WCF, WPF and SQL Server.
  • Strong understanding of Agile process and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of latest technologies and trends.
  • Ability to develop use-cases from business requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project stakeholders outside of Dev. group, especially with Product Management on feature requirements and project schedules.
  • Ability to provide effective technical leadership and oversight to development team on a project, ensuring that software is developed in adherence to established architecture, design, quality standards, as well as delivery schedule.
