Magnetude Consulting is a boutique, full-service, Needham-based marketing agency that specializes in working with entrepreneurial B2B tech sector firms. We have an opening for a freelance web developer to join our growing team who can assist on both internal and client efforts to design, modify, and manage websites, build new pages, and integrate new plugins.
Required Skills:
Solid knowledge of WordPress and experience with complex WordPress implementations
Well versed with PHP, HTML, CSS, JS and MYSQL
Ability to create front-end user interfaces leveraging Bootstrap 3 or 4
Ability to create custom themes from scratch
Experience working with component-based design systems
Ability to research and evaluate plugins - understanding the implications on a given site, as well as any security concerns that may be introduced
Ability to debug system issues
Knowledge in custom post types, custom fields, and taxonomies
A solid understanding of organic Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Experience in web performance optimization
Understanding of backup and restore technologies
Ability to work in multiple development and production environments, with the understanding of promoting code between these systems
Basic understanding of LAMP-based server technologies
Other requirements include:
7+ years of experience developing and managing Wordpress sites
A positive, upbeat, and collaborative attitude, in line with the company culture
Ability to turn around work in short timeframes
Must be a freelance developer (must be available during business hours)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in web design, multi-media design, computer science, or related field
