Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join Biogen’s Biologics Drug Discovery team, and contribute to our mission to design, optimize, and develop therapeutics to improve the lives of patients with neurodegenerative disease. In this role, you will contribute to a cross-functional effort to identify and validate novel methods for enhancing delivery of therapeutic candidates to the central nervous system (CNS).

What You’ll Do

  • Perform in vitro assays to assess CNS delivery/ targeting properties of therapeutic proteins, bispecific antibodies, oligonucleotide conjugates, and others.
  • Assist with in vivo biodistribution and pharmacodynamic studies in rodents by doing blood and tissue extraction and/or bioanalytical assays.
  • Perform tissue culture to support cellular binding and sub-cellular trafficking studies.

Required Skills

  • Basic protein biochemistry
  • Immunoassays such as ELISA, Western blot, cellular binding experiments
  • Animal handling, including cardiac perfusion, tissue extraction and dissection
  • Familiarity with immunohistochemistry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, documentation and record-keeping
  • Candidates should have a BS or MS in biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, neuroscience/neuropathology or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
