About This Role

The mission of Biogen’s Biologics Drug Discovery group is to design, optimize, and develop high-quality differentiated protein therapeutics that become transformative medicines.

We seek an Associate Scientist to join our Protein & Cell Engineering group within Biologics Drug Discovery. Primary responsibilities will include target validation, recombinant protein expression, cellular functional assay design and execution, cell engineering and molecular biology.

What You’ll Do

  • Protein engineering and cloning in expression and viral vectors
  • Protein expression in mammalian cell platforms 1ml to 40L scale
  • Cell engineering utilizing a variety of techniques to develop assays for biologics validation, screening and characterization.

Required Skills

  • Mammalian tissue culture experience
  • Experience in molecular cloning and construct design
  • BS/MS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 3 or more years of experience (Candidates with more or less experience will be considered and are encouraged to apply)

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with cell based assays
  • Lenti/retroviral transduction
  • Use of CRISPR/Cas9 in genome engineering
  • Experience with GIBSON/Seamless cloning
