POSITION SUMMARY:We have an exciting opportunity to support our client in biocatalysis.  The Scientist will be responsible for using enzymatic reactions to prepare chiral intermediates and optimize reaction conditions to accelerate process development. The candidate will also be responsible for writing and reviewing documentation, regularly updating notebooks, providing updates to management, following all safety protocols in the laboratory, and supporting other laboratory activities as needed.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:Work in a collaborative environment, implement biocatalysis under the guidance of a SME, and take full responsibility for a research project.Run enzymatic reactions, isolate pure products, and optimize the reactions to develop scalable processes.Develop assays to evaluate enzyme activity, use high throughput experimentation to prepare enzyme plates, and immobilize enzymes on resinsPerform chiral analysis using UPLC and GC, and characterize the products using NMR and MS.Analyze experimental data and properly document experiments (electronic lab notebook and records).Generate protocols, reports, and presentations on performed experiments.Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.Perform other laboratory-based activities, as required.
