Summary

Performance Operational Capabilities (POC)enables innovative approaches and efficient execution of the clinical development pipeline for global clinical operations (GCO) and/or other organizations within Biogen that impact GCO.

Position Description

This role is for a co-op within the Business Performance Management (BPM) team within the overall POCorganization. When viewed as a lifecycle, business performance management touches upon distinct yet interconnected areas including process improvement & innovation, analytics & metrics, resource & demand management, and clinical trial information systems & technology. Given the inherent interconnectedness of these areas, the majority of BPM projects have elements of each within their objectives.

Based on current business needs, youwill focus heavily on supporting ongoing projects in process improvement and optimization efforts specifically in the space of data quality and process improvement projects. More specifically there is an opportunity for youto produce meaningful analysis to support ongoing efforts in resource and demand management as well as for analytics and dashboard creation.

As a co-op, you will:

  • Provide project management support on key BPM projects; gathering requirements, scheduling and leading meetings with stakeholders sending out a summary with action items, and develop project timelines for the team to commit to
  • Lead weekly stand up meetings for a team of 10 to track progress on tasks
  • Execute data quality initiatives for 2022 by engaging with cross-functional teams and vendors
  • Implement process improvement projects when necessary
  • Maintain and QC GCO Goal tracking process in Sharepoint and communicate with IT and key stakeholders throughout the duration of the project
  • Investigate, triage, and resolve BPM requests relating to Sharepoint and data quality issues
  • Manage shared POC mailbox
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing for system reports under guidance from IT
  • Review training compliance within Biogen University and CTMS access
  • Lead and execute 1-2 select pilot data and/or analytics projects based on team need and co-op interest (opportunity to communicate with study and program teams)

Qualifications

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

Education

Working towards a BA/BS or MS
