Senior Project Manager with a background in Infrastructure and IT operations. The purpose of this role is to examine current environment, research, then implement software to aid in IT Operations, hardware, and software monitoring. This job is Partial Remote Partial onsite in Cambridge, MA

The position requires direct, clear, and timely communication with executive level. The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert to fulfill a wide variety of both urgent technical changes as well work as an advisor for long term technical decisions. The candidate will manage project(s) and liaise between the Business and Technical team. This project manager will prepare project execution plans, reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.

Some of the Short- and Long-Term Objectives of this role.
  • Assess current technical environment and prioritize transitions based off of current needs
  • Research best options for Ticketing System, Active Directory, Change Control, Asset Management System, Software Utilization, Licensing and Usage, Lab Managing Systems, IOT Solutions
  • Create Roadmap to accomplish a several year shift in technologies

The following duties are typical of the position.
  • Develop briefs and/or reports on the status of the Migrations/Integrations.
  • Liaison with IT Team, Business, and external partners.
  • Develop, or assist with development of program and project cost estimates.
  • Identifies requirements with stakeholders; analyzes department applications, programming, and operations; evaluates existing systems and designs proposed systems.
  • Assesses, identifies, and recommends innovative solutions that provide continuous improvement in the organization.
  • Leads and manages system upgrades, rollouts, and implementations; developing workflows; documenting processes; developing policies and ensuring they are followed.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and reports on the progress of service delivery; take a customer-centric approach to problem-solving; solicits customer feedback to improve service; and responds to customer needs.
  • Responsible for providing application and operational support for the full breadth of applications used enterprise wide as well as other lines of business applications.
  • Oversee the institution's information technology projects/activities. Direct/Manage/Supervise technology projects to meet specific requirements.
  • Automates processes in IT Operations and the business to improve efficiency. Maintains quality service standards set by the organization.
  • Collects and reviews system data for capacity and planning purposes. Helps plan large-scale systems projects and upgrades.
  • Provides recommendations for improvements to the applications, which includes developing road maps, guides, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitors the systems daily and responds immediately to security or usability concerns.
  • Assists IT management in preparing business and use cases.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • PMP preferred but not required
  • 5+ years of IT experience supporting ongoing client engagements
  • 5 years IT project management experience working with small, medium, and large client facing projects
  • Experience researching solutions and creating an implementation plan.
