About This Role

Biogen is seeking to hire Biostatisticians for ourReal World Evidence (RWE) and PersonalizedHealth Analytics (PHA) team in Cambridge, MA. This exciting opportunity will provide valuableguidance on RWE/PHA studies as well as be a key contributor with biostatistics projects in various therapeutic areas. We are considering Senior Biostatistican to Assocate Director levels.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure that high quality biostatistical and pharmacoepidemiology support is provided by the Analytics team
  • Ensure that staff implement innovative, rigorous biostatistical methods to meet study objectives.
  • Able to make decisions across a variety of studies with minimal input from line or project manager.
  • Able to work with others to identify and resolve areas of concerns. Takes initiative to communicate issues within or across multiple project team(s). Able to handle large volume of highly complex taskswith minimal supervision.
  • Serve as primary contact for management, Medical Directors, CROs, KOL's with respect to statistical consultation for products within a TA. Interacts with team members across functional areas and multiple studies. Represents the organization in meetings or on teams.
  • Collaborate with external entities (e.g. thought leaders, academic entities and vendors) in the analysis of real world studies
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives regarding RWE/PHA.

Who You Are

You will beresponsible for providing biostatistical support and guidance on RWE/PHA studies and may serve as the responsible biostatistician on several projects in different indications. This role reports into the Head and Director of Analytics, Medical Data Science and Analytics (MDSA) within Personalized Health Research, Analytics and Solutions (PHRAS).

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Economics or equivalent experience.
  • Previous Leadership experience as a People Manageror Supervisoris highly preferred. Experience with leading a Project Teammay also be taken into consideration to meet desired qualifications.
  • Thorough understanding of biostatistics, pharmacoepidemiology, and outcomes research methods in RWE/PHA studies.
  • Expertise in pharmacoepidemiology study designs
  • Experience with secondary data sources including registries, claims and EMR.
  • Knowledge of drug development (clinical and post-approval) and understanding of drug developmentas a continuum.
  • Programming experience with R, SAS or other statistical software packages
  • Experience with ICH GCP, regulatory (e.g. EMA and FDA) and HTA (e.g. NICE and HAS) guidelines.
  • Able to write and present information effectively
  • Able to explain methodology and consequences of decisions in lay terms
  • Able to manage many projects simultaneously, to manage conflicting priorities, and to be flexiblewhen priorities change
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize.Education
