Job Description
We are seeking a Scientist to join Biogen’s CNS Delivery Technologies unit in Biologics Drug Discovery (BDD) Team, and contribute to our mission to design, optimize, and develop therapeutics to improve the lives of patients with neurodegenerative disease. In this role, you will contribute to a cross-functional effort to explore known and novel methods for conjugation of nucleic acids (such as, antisense oligonucleotides (ASO), and siRNAs) to antibodies, proteins and peptides for enhancing systemic delivery of therapeutic candidates to the central nervous system (CNS).
- In collaboration with a cross-functional team, investigating and establishing known and novel conjugation methods by exploring various modifications of proteins (antibodies, non-Ig scaffolds, and peptides) that target receptors on the blood-brain barrier (BBB).
- Co-Lead research efforts for application of CNS targeting and delivery technologies to therapeutic candidates.
Qualifications
Knowledge in BBB field and CNS delivery technologies including, receptor-mediated transcytosis, is preferred. Previous experience with modification of large molecules, such as antibodies, for conjugation purposes, is required. Ability to run analytical techniques such as PAGE, HPLC are required. Experience in in vitro binding or characterization assays using Elisa/MSD and FACS for modified molecules is preferred. Ability to work independently as well as with cross functional teams and strong communication skills are required.
Requirements for Sci I level: PhD and 0-2 years of experience, Master's degree in Scientific discipline and 2-4 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline and 6-8 years of experience.
Requirements for Sci II level: PhD and 2-5 years of experience, Masters degree in Scientific discipline and 6-8 years of experience and Bachelor's degree and 8-10 years of experience.
