Job Description

Lead and participate in Research IT projects and proof of concept initiatives. Manage life cycle of Research applications through all phases, from planning through retirement, across all technical environments. Translate Research business needs into application and operational requirements. Analyze and evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, translate high-level information into details, and redefine low level details into higher level general overarching documentation. Manage regular meetings with stakeholders and end users. Own and maintain assigned IT platform roadmaps, in support of Research, including run support-related activities for the R&D application portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively drive projects and ensure alignment on all project details: objectives, scope, approach, deliverables, financials, schedule, dependencies and risks.
  • Proactively manage IT and functional stakeholders, delivery teams, vendors, and Steering Committees to ensure accountability and drive value.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable user stories and tasks for delivery in agile scrum-based projects.
  • Clearly communicate project status, schedule, risks, issues, and changes/resolutions – keeping all stakeholders involved and informed on a regular basis.
  • Follow and uphold required and expected processes – including regulatory compliance standards – and provide input to improve processes.
  • Define and develop the IT platform roadmap, including relevant performance measures, addressing current issues and challenges, future plans for changes and opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete tasks related to run support and life cycle management of R&D IT applications

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • BA or BS in life sciences/computer sciences or equivalent experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience working as BA in the life-sciences/biotech space.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical research technologies, tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of System Development Life Cycle and GxP validation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, presentation, and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact with business users, technical team, project managers, senior management, outsourced service providers, and vendors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate complex technology matters to audiences with varying degrees of technical background. Proficiency in articulating how technology can be used to enable life science research capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently troubleshoot as well as develop alternative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to develop realistic action plans.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment; team player and collaborator; must possess good time management skills, attention to detail and organization skills.

Preferred:

  • Have passion to learn and grow beyond comfort zone.
  • IT project management skills and experience in the Agile Scrum framework, budget and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of modern technology stacks, including cloud and high-performance computing technologies.
  • Perform basic data analysis using common programming scripting languages SQL and Python.
  • Experience delivering sustainable solutions through DevOps and CI/CD.
