ABOUT THE TEAMYour team is Data Science Engineering. This team's mission is to enable Audible to unlock the power of Big Data and Data Science and to run advanced statistical analyses and models. Projects include testing, consuming and hosting machine learning models, data ingestion pipelines, building full stack solutions and partnering with teams across Audible for building ML based solutions.

We're looking for people who can think big and help guide the organization make intelligent decisions based on data. If this is you, please apply! As a Senior Software Developer Engineer, you will
  • Develop personalization strategies to optimize for KPIs and the customer lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain scalable distributed real-time systems using Java.
  • Adapt machine learning, data mining and statistical techniques to high volume low-latency production workloads.
  • Participate in the full development life cycle, working within broadly defined parameters.
  • Create and execute appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies and processes for development activities in concert with business and project management efforts.
  • Set the technical direction and strategy within the team and strategize to influence technology across Audible and beyond.
  • Mentor and lead developers by cultivating curiosity and deep technical understanding.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C, or C# including object-oriented design.
  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with React, HTTP/2, Serverless, Microservices, and cross-platform development.
  • Prior use of AWS technologies at scale in a production environment.
  • Working knowledge of Machine Learning techniques a plus.
  • Strong problem solving skills, adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership.
  • Familiar with Unix/Linux and know how to write optimized, low-latency code.
  • Passion for data, coding, modeling, research design and cutting-edges algorithms.
