Job Description:
  • The Senior Network Systems Administrator would have experience implementing, supporting, and improving public and private cloud infrastructure systems and more.
  • Our client is looking for a highly motivated self-starter who can improve, innovate and implement IT solutions for them.
  • The candidate will assist in IT projects big and small and will report to the Senior Director of IT in Cambridge.

What You Will Do:

  • Administer and improve public and private cloud infrastructure and systems (e.g. Azure/On-Prem AD, M365, VMware, Server OS, Email, SharePoint Online, file services, etc.)
  • Implement, maintain and optimize private cloud infrastructure and systems (e.g. servers, storage, firewall, AD, data protection, etc.)
  • Senior Network Systems Administrator will lead, manage or assist in IT projects that innovate and improve IT and the overall end-user experience (e.g. Tech Refresh data center, build out a new data center, office moves, migrate file services to Cloud, improve web portal, AD synch, automate user de/provisioning, cybersecurity efforts, etc.)
  • Improve, innovate and implement additional cybersecurity measures and solutions (e.g. data protection, endpoint protection, patch management, vulnerability management, and more)
  • Partner with MSP to improve and support infrastructure
  • Establish and enforce IT SOPs and standards
  • Provide IT support as needed and be a key support resource for the Cambridge IT team
  • Assist with IT escalations for the Cambridge team
  • Collaborate with Boulder IT Team members and provide IT services for the R&D team as needed

What You Bring:

  • BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering, or another scientific field
  • 7+ years of experience supporting private cloud infrastructure and equipment
  • 3+ years of experience supporting public cloud infrastructure
  • Experience designing and implementing private and public cloud technologies and solutions
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, My Apps portal, and SharePoint Online
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory in Private and Public Clouds
  • Hands-on experience with VMware and NetApp
  • Hands-on experience with Firewalls and Switches
  • Ability to lift data center equipment
  • 1+ years of knowledge and support of scientific systems ideally in a biotechnology environment working with ELN, Data Analytics, and Visualization Systems
  • Ability to innovate and effectively drive IT changes throughout the organization
  • Ability to adapt and learn new technologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Windows and macOS experience
  • Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solver
  • Team player and acts with a sense of urgency to help customers
  • Work independently/Self-starter
