We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to design, develop and test the mechanical packaging for the base station electronics and the outdoor enclosure.Why join us?great benefits, work culture, advancement opportunitiesJob DetailsResponsibilitiesDesign of the outdoor housing of a complex telecommunications base stationDesign of the thermal management system from IC heatsinks out to the complete enclosureDesign of sheet metal, injection molded, and aluminum die cast parts for optimum high-volume tooling and productionRapid prototyping and 3D-printingSelection of all materials to meet rugged outdoor environmentsProduct compliance with environmental standards (IP67, NEMA4x)Release to manufacturing of mechanical component and enclosure assembly drawingsTool outsourcing, DFM reviews, and First Article acceptanceCreate and maintain structured product BOMs for all SKUs in a configuration management systemQualificationsEducation: Bachelors, Mechanical Engineering10+ years of experience designing outdoor enclosures for telecommunications applicationsProficient with 3D mechanical design software (Solidworks preferred)Proficient with CFD thermal simulation software (Ansys, FLoTHERM) and modeling of actively and passively cooled systemsExtensive experience in DFM for toolingExtensive experience in compliance testing to environmental standardsExperience in Telecommunications Regulatory certification is a plusFamiliarity with BOM configuration management software (Arena preferred)Must be a self-starter and team playerAbility to organize and prioritize responsibilities effectively to meet deadlinesInterested in hearing more?
