IT Lab Systems Analyst

Description: Our Pharma Client is a cloud organization looking for a Contract Lab IT Systems Analyst with strong cloud/SaaS experience to work within the IT Operations team. This role will primarily support our laboratory applications like ELN, SDMS, and instrument software. It will also interface closely with groups across the organization to create new automations, enhance current enterprise application offerings, and encourage modern, collaborative ways of working with desktop technologies. The role will work with various areas of the business globally to understand business needs, evaluate existing and novel products, and implement them working alongside the IT organization. The preferred candidate would be comfortable with producing documentation and training end-users on the use of our scientific and enterprise applications.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

3-4 years of experience in a similar role

Prior experience in the Bio-tech industry supporting lab software is required

Technical knowledge and experience with cloud and SaaS applications

Familiarity with implementing and administering lab management software

Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work effectively with a diversity of personalities. Must be approachable, show respect for others, and effectively communicate with colleagues in a way that projects a desire to improve the processes of the business

Superior written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with different levels of management/end users

Experience with gathering and communication user requirements and the tenants of good project management

Familiarity with cloud/SaaS applications such as Box, Smartsheet, LucidChart, as well as Office 365 (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.)

Knowledge of scripting to automate workflows (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to organize and execute on a variety of concurrent activities across multiple disparate areas

A creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm, and a team player

Highly organized, results driven, problem solver

Highly motivated with the ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment

Drive to investigate new technologies (and/or changes to existing technologies)

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

DESIRED SKILLS:

Familiarity with Azure and/or AWS is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the development and use of the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) including inventory management, form development, and training

Assist with the implementation of new laboratory systems such as a Scientific Data Management System (SDMS) and Laboratory Informatics System (LIMS)

Work with business units to understand their processes, data management/analytic requirements using interviews, workshops, use cases, and requirements gathering

Communicate business/system needs with other business partners such IT Operations, IT Business Systems, Training groups, etc. where applicable

Develop systems based on the information gathering from all affected areas of the business

Serve as a technical expert for the business solutions implemented

Review existing internal IT processes and common support issues to find opportunities for improvement

Investigate new solutions to provide time-saving automated workflows

Ensure adequate testing for new capabilities and solutions before rollout

Drive adoption of new technologies and solutions through effective change management

Coordinate issue resolution with internal and external technical support providers

Prioritize tasks to deliver value to the business

Serve as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and IT team

Ensure appropriate IT processes, procedures, and standards are in place

Oversee vendor relationships for implemented technologies

Document and train the end-users on the use of implemented solutions
