Here, you go.Job Summary:The person hired for the position of Lead Maintenance Mechanic will lead and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds.This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Coordinate and perform scheduled maintenance work and other preventive maintenance tasks on fiber carding/calendar lines, offline calendars, and slitters

Uses electrical/electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and hydraulic system knowledge to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment

Adjust equipment to ensure proper operation

Act as a liaison between outside vendors and administrative staff to arrange for PLC systems/motors/drives troubleshooting and repair.

Act as a liaison between key equipment suppliers and administrative staff for purchasing of critical spare parts and any other equipment or parts needed to keep the equipment operational

May design and build machine guards and replacement parts, and make minor machine modifications

Install new machinery, fixtures, and necessary hookups

Work with Supervisor and process engineer to identify improvement opportunities

Use hand tools, basic machine tools, and welders to perform job tasks

Read electrical/electronic, fluid-power, and mechanical drawings and schematics

Responsible for maintaining a spare parts inventory control system

Identify needed repair parts

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Cross train with other Maintenance personnel

Performs activities of workers supervised.

Other duties may be assigned.

Company VehicleThis position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.This position will require:

Working night shift (Sunday – Wednesday, 9pm – 7am)

Working overtime

Frequent physical demands including, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Basic Qualifications:

Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Possess one of the following:

Two (2) year Technical Degree or Diploma (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

Minimum two (2) years experience in a private, public, government, or military environment

Equivalent combination of education and experience

Possess a current and valid Drivers’ License.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating a fork-lift.

Experience as a Team Lead or Supervisor
