Our industry-leading client is seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to join their team.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.Responsibilities of the Senior Linux Engineer: - Identify design requirements and make recommendations for capacity planning, performance optimization, and future direction
- Troubleshoot storage-related reliability, availability, and performance issues
- Research and compare system/OS features and work with vendors on system sizing
- Lead or participate in the software development life cycle
- Lead the testing and fixing of new or enhanced products
- Create technical documentation of software solutions
Requirements of the Senior Linux Engineer: - At least 10 years of Linux System Administration experience
- Extensive knowledge of SUSE or CentOS/Red Hat
- Expert network understanding, Linux kernel network stack
- Advanced Routing and Switching knowledge
- Network application development proficiency
- Scripting skills, preferably Python
