Our Fortune 500 Client seeks a
Network Engineer to work in a lab.- Typical lab environment set up for engineering teams. Candidate will work on site with another Lab Support team member and collaborate with off-site extended lab management team.Job Overview: Coordinate and perform installations, preventive and remedial maintenance of servers and storage equipment located within the LAB computing environment. Interface with server and storage vendors to establish successful integration of equipment into associated systems. Provide technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users. Work with engineering departments to develop hardware configuration test plans to support software development efforts. Demonstrate a high degree of self-initiative. Must be able to adapt to the changing daily priorities in a fast-paced engineering lab environment.Responsibilities:• Provide general infrastructure level client/server and SAN/storage array support for the configuration and maintenance of the engineering lab systems for the lab computing environment.• Responsible for ensuring proper deployment of fiber-channel storage arrays, hosts, switches, software, and storage networking infrastructure.• Ensure that the technical environment is properly racked, installed and monitored.• Ensure any infrastructure level problems are identified and rectified.• Maintain a working knowledge of all documented processes and procedures.• Identifies opportunities for improvements in efficiency and responsiveness, makes recommendations and assists to implement efficiencies.• Identify system or storage performance issues and participate in the development of tools to improve system management.• Provides technical expertise while working on specific user requests as it pertains to lab infrastructure. Required Skills: • 3+ years working experience in a lab environment, data center, or ops center • Network configuration and infrastructure expertise • Ability to perform Rack and Stack as needed • Equipment set-up and deployment, maintenance, patching, server deployments, etc.Vacancy expired!
