Riverside Research is seeking a senior-level, tech-savvy expert in business development and commercial tech ecosystems to join our team supporting the Defense Innovation Unit. This individual will be entrusted with developing networks of commercial partners for transformative DoD programs related to cutting edge technology in the human systems field and related disciplines. This role is key to maintaining the United States' national security posture and delivering critical capabilities directly to warfighter. Prior experience working within the commercial sector and knowledge of emerging commercial technologies with focus on human systems technologies, outreach, marketing, business development, the full sales lifecycle, and similar skillsets are required. The position will collaborate with and report to internal and external executives, other senior-level officials, vendor management and technical teams, and is based in Boston, MA with travel in support of outreach, competitions, and prototype projects. All Riverside Research opportunities require U.S. citizenship.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Advise senior executives and internal program managers on any and all commercial considerations/topics
  • Provide support throughout government solicitation processes
  • Provide insights into emerging technologies
  • Identify and establish relationships with relevant vendors
  • Support vendor and technology viability analyses
  • Ensuring proper ongoing communication with vendors, partners, and other executives
  • Develop subject matter knowledge of key industry focus areas (e.g. biotech, medicine, robotics, AR/VR, health tech etc.)
  • Participate in industry conferences, forums, and other events
  • Integrate into ongoing business development and marketing activities seamlessly

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial sales, business development, operations, or product development
  • Prior experience supporting military, IC, or government clients
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in challenging roles and environments
  • Demonstrated interest in advancing national security
  • Passion for analyzing industry landscapes and identifying/vetting companies
  • Private sector experience and understanding of startup company culture and operations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI clearance

  • MBA
  • Product development experience at a technology startup
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
