Solidus is searching for a DevOps Engineer.

Candidate will join a small team facilitating rapid and robust design, implementation, test, and delivery of large-scale embedded software systems, such as autonomy libraries for autonomous vehicles, with modern infrastructure and efficient application of best practices. Successful individual will own responsibility for understanding current development processes, maintaining awareness of emerging tools and practices, identifying needs and opportunities for improvement, architecting, and implementing corresponding solutions with cloud and on-premises hardware, creating documentation, and monitoring operational systems to ensure continuous utility. Engineer will hold a critical and valued role within a diverse team of robotics, autonomy, software, data, and information technology engineers.

Requirements - ship and the ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance; Active Secret highly preferred - 3 years' minimum relevant experience - BS Degree; Clear evidence of outstanding relevant technical expertise is acceptable in lieu of a degree

Required Experience - Architecting, designing, and implementing software development infrastructure supporting the creation and test of custom Python and C software components that execute on embedded platforms - Prior ownership or significant responsibility for the success of a DevOps platform - Broad and comprehensive knowledge of established and emerging automated build, continuous integration and test, infrastructure as code, deployment, and other software lifecycle tools - Expertise with Linux environments including non-graphical instances - Docker, and virtualization; Familiar deploying microservices architecture, applications, and supporting services - Knowledge of Linux-based Python and C development; one or more non-graphical C build systems i.e., Make/Cmake/Nmake - C build stages, such as compiling vs linking, compiler options, and tools, such as static analysis - Python-based development or scripting of DevOps features - Develop new capabilities in Python with application of Python best practices, such as unit testing - Utilizing and customizing the Atlassian suite of tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence), GitHub, and the Jenkins automation server - Hudson/Jenkins - Experience with DevOps workflows and common CI/CD tools - Effectively communicate the elements and attributes of a design, approach, or decision at a high-level in written, verbal, and presentation formats - Work effectively in a collaborative small-team environment

Additionally Desired - Knowledge of software quality assurance tools and techniques such as static code analysis and fuzz testing - Building DevOps solutions for robotic or autonomous systems - Operating System (ROS) and ROS Version 2 (ROS2) build systems (catkin, ament, colcon) - Integrating visual or physics-based software simulation systems, such as Gazebo, Unity3D, AirSim, or OpenAI Gym, with continuous integration and test frameworks - Knowledge of cyber security considerations relevant to DevOps - Building systems on commercial cloud providers with AWS GovCloud - Familiarity with agile development practices - Proficiency with automation tools for provisioning and configuration, such as Ansible - Maven
