Java Developer - Secret Clearance Required

Multi-year contract

Partially on-site in Lexington, MA + Partially remote

Summary of Position:

Builds and codes applications and/or modules using a variety of programming languages. Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems. Designs web based, mobile technology, cloud, and security interface to meet the specific needs of users. Prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, technical specifications, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. May build add-on modules using application program language and/or be involved in user testing to provide actionable insights that drive future system design improvements. May have vendor management responsibility. May partner and collaborate with cyber security teams to ensure compliance with security standards as well as development operations team while automating process of software delivery and infrastructure changes.

Required Skills

Candidate must have:

  • 5+ years software design and development experience (Level 2)
  • Must be team oriented, and must be able to work independently and with team members
  • Must have good communication, documentation, and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with application services (nodeJS, Karaf, etc)
  • Experience with relational database and SQL skills
  • Experience with relational data design and modeling concepts
  • Experience with common developer tools (Maven, Eclipse, Subversion, Ant, TeamForge, Git, etc)
  • Comfortable working in both Linux and Windows environments
Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with distributed system architectures and concurrent programming techniques
  • Familiarity with Spring
  • Familiarity with Object Oriented programming methodologies
  • Familiarity with full-lifecycle Java application development
  • Experience with Camel
  • Experience with Restful Services
  • Experience with messaging systems (ActiveMQ, Kafka)
