Solidus is searching for a Test Engineer.
Candidate will join a semiconductor device test team to assist in the characterization and understanding of novel avalanche photodiodes (APDs) and other photodetectors. The group is building state-of-the-art, photon-counting receivers and other visible and infrared imagers for a variety of scientific and national security needs. This position will require versatility and creativity to design and carry out the appropriate measurements and then to analyze the data for validity and usefulness in answering the underlying device performance questions. The ideal candidate is expected to be able to operate both independently on their own experiments and as part of a group to achieve larger objectives.Requirements - ship and the ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance; Active Secret preferred - Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years experienceRequired Experience - Optical laboratory experimental design, test, and standard equipment including power meters, optical spectrum analyzers, fiber components - Electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes multimeters, power supplies, frequency/pulse generators, signal generators, logic analyzers, and acquisition - Scientific data analysis and data reduction (MATLAB, Python) - Debugging and interpreting data products - General Electronics Expertise (Analog and Digital) - Monitor Testing Procedures - Testing and Evaluation - Testing and test support of electronic assemblies on the bench - Test Matrix Configuration - Test Procedure Composition - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Effectively communicate results and ideasAdditionally Desired - Electro-Optic Sensors - New Circuit Characterization and Qualification - New Circuit Debug - PCB Design and Layout - Semiconductor Device Testing - Chip-Level Debugging tools (Chipscope/Signal Tap) - PhotodetectorsReq ID 4428Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
