Solidus is searching for a Mechanical Engineer to design, integrate, and test complex hardware from conceptual design through fabrication and field performance evaluation. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, under the direction of a Technical Project Manager, to provide support for the mechanical design and testing of complex mechanical, opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.

Requirements: - ship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Active Secret or Active Top Secret is highly preferred. - BS or MS degree is mandatory. BS should be in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace. - Seven years of relevant job experience - This position is required onsite at least 4 days a week so the candidate must either be local to Lexington, MA area or able to relocate at the start of the position.

Required Skills: - Experience in mechanical design, assembly and environmental testing of high reliability electronic, electro-optic, mechanisms, or opto-mechanical systems for DoD or aerospace applications. - Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD software. - The candidate must be knowledgeable in a broad range of challenging problems involving structures, mechanisms, thermal systems, optics and electronics. - Comfortable working in close-knit teams with design, analyses and test personnel. - Candidates must be enthusiastic, innovative and motivated self-starters able to work independently, or as part of a group. - They must possess strong oral and written communication skills and must be able to present status or results to internal and external audiences.

Desired Skills: - Demonstrated experience with the development of opto-mechanical or electro-mechanical systems utilized on spacecraft and/or aircraft - Experience in DoD, military, and/or aerospace applications highly preferred. - Opto-mechanical experience would be highly preferred and would stand out a candidate from others
