Solidus is searching for an Electrical Engineer for development, review, and integration of electronic subsystems for a space-bound application.

The successful candidate will join a group that is focused on the synthesis of dynamic and complex control and autonomous systems, from concept to realization, for a wide variety of prototypes. Prototype applications span various mission areas, such as space control; air, missile and maritime defense; communication and tactical systems; homeland protection; and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems. The group has expertise in dynamic stabilization and platform control; advanced autonomy; pointing, acquisition, and tracking; guidance; navigation and estimation; robotics; mapping; intra- and inter-system planning (e.g., swarming); demanding real-time embedded software and firmware control; image processing; machine learning; human-machine interaction; space-qualified electronics; and analog and power electronics. Applied research and development projects include space optical payloads, small satellites, airborne laser radars and imaging systems, and autonomous air, ground, and maritime systems.

Responsibilities: - Hands on design, development, and technical support utilizing experience in electronic systems hardware development for space-bound systems - Participate in defining, describing and implementing program deliverables/functionalities.

Required Skills: - ship and the ability to obtain a DoD Clearance - PhD with 5 years of experience, MS with 8 years of experience, BS with 11 years of experience - Familiarity with all types of laboratory instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, spectrum analyzers, and frequency counters. - - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - The ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Experience with space-bound systems in each of the following areas is required: - Power conversion and distribution technology - Systems interconnect and integration design (including experience specifying system grounding requirements and signal integrity requirements) - Experience with EMC requirements (e.g., MIL-STD-461) and developing associated design requirements at the board-level through the system-level - Circuit analysis tools such as SPICE/PSPICE

Preferred Skills: - Active DoD Top Secret is not required but is a plus - Experience with Space bound systems - Familiarity with embedded systems development, including C and/or assembly language programming for hard real-time single-board computer applications. - All aspects of implementing electronic circuitry, including design and schematic entry using Mentor Graphics tools, board layout, parts selection, debugging, and documentation. - Optoelectronic circuitry such as low-noise quadrant detector transimpedance amplifiers and laser diode pulse power drive circuitry (30 W or greater) - Test planning and execution for components, subsystems, and systems
