Solidus is searching for an energetic Hardware/Embedded Systems Engineer experienced in FPGA, VHDL, C, and board design to join our team to turn futuristic R&D ideas into practical solutions to important problems.

The successful Engineer will play a key support role in creating and transitioning advanced HW/Embedded Systems technology for ensuring security of mission-critical systems, such as drones, ground robots, and satellites. The team's R&D activities in this area focus on implementing foundational technologies, security subsystems, and test-beds for such mission-critical systems, including encryptors for secure communication and storage, and secure processors.

Required skills and experience: - U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance. Active Secret is preferred - Bachelor and Master's Degree in related field - 5+ years Firmware - 5+ years Real-time SW/HW - Digital system design - Xilinx FPGA tool flow from RTL design through synthesis, place-and-route and FPGA bring-up, utilizing modern processes and tools for mixed RTL/embedded processor designs - Embedded systems development in VHDL - At least 1+ year of experience with the following: Software Documentation C/C Programming Embedded Software Software Testing

Preferred skills: - Industry experience developing COMSEC systems; not required but would be highly valued - Requirements analysis, trade-space analysis, and system engineering - Hardware and software testing - Knowledge of secure system development or interest and willingness to learn - Embedded System Development in C - Government requirements, documentation, and accreditation of DoD systems - Engineering, manufacturing, board building in production environments
