Solidus is looking for a Signal Processing & Control Systems Engineer to support the development of novel beam control technology in applications ranging from laser communication, remote sensing and directed energy The team develops and applies laser systems and optics in solutions of defense and other U. S. Government needs.

Responsibilities: 1)The design and analysis of various concepts and architectures for stabilization and tracking control systems 2) Working with a multi-disciplinary team to define top-level system requirements 3)Presentation and defense of new concepts to team members 4)Implementation and testing of new control and signal processing algorithms using hardware-in-the-loop prototype systems.

Required skills: - U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Security Clearance. Active Secret preferred. - M.S. in Electrical, Computer Engineering and/or Control Systems with course work and experience in control systems and signal processing.

- Relevant work includes estimation and feedback control algorithms (PID controllers), optical tracking, inertial stabilization, embedded servo control systems, guidance, navigation, mechanism and actuator control. - Must be familiar with design, implementation and evaluation of classical and modern control approaches, both linear and non-linear for single-input single-output (SISO) and multi-input multi-output (MIMO) dynamic systems. - Proficiency in Linux operating system and real-timer kernel (Tuning and Performance Analysis) - Control system modeling and design in multiple software suites, such as Matlab Simulink. - Control software design and development in multiple languages (C/C, Python, etc). - Image and signal processing knowledge (analog and DSP). - Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience working with multidisciplinary teams. - 3 years of experience with the following: Electro-Optic Sensors Machine Vision Systems (e.g. digital cameras and associated video capture electronics) Resilient Communications, Command, and Control Algorithms Digital Signal Processing, Multi-Dimensional Signal Processing (Image Processing Algorithms) and Signal Processing -Experience with single and multi input/output dynamics systems, Linear and non-linear control.

Preferred skills: - 3 year's hands-on experience with optics (design and hardware) , video and image acquisition systems, image processing algorithms, digital and analog signal processing and conditioning/acquisition hardware. - Solid understanding of computer architecture and the PCIe interface is also highly desired. - Experience implementing parallel processes using graphical processing units (GPUs). -Experience with tracking and stabilizing systems

NOTE: A successful candidate will have 3-5 years of experience with the outlined qualifications. Additionally, this individual must be able to hit the ground running with very little ramp up time required.
