Solidus is searching for a Systems Administrator.
The successful candidate will join a group that that applies advanced technology to problems of national security. Its Advanced RF Techniques and Systems group is seeking a Systems Administrator to support its mission of researching and prototyping adaptive communications technologies. The group's current areas of research include development and demonstration of new algorithms, architectures, and hardware implementations for processing signals for a broad range of RF system applications, including advanced wireless communications and signals intelligence. The group's core competencies include developing algorithms and system concepts for communication, signal detection, localization, and classification in challenging environments, as well as hardware implementations and prototypes of these advanced RF systems. The group has a need for an experienced Network administrator to ensure the group's servers and computing needs are properly handled.Responsibilities: - Procuring, configuring, and maintaining the group's computing, data storage, and networking hardware/software. - Off-loading and expediting the group's support requests from the Information Services helpdesk. - Complying with security policies set forth by the Information Security Services Dept. and research sponsors.Required Skills: - ship and the ability to obtain a DoD Clearance, Active TS Prefferred - BS +5 years of experience - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - A solid understanding of Windows, Linux, Mac and network administration (including OS installation and patching - Experience maintaining servers (patch management, storage management) - Ability to write Bash, Python, VBScript, or Windows PowerShell scripts - Liaison with Services and Security Services Departments to comply with security requirements - Strong problem-solving skills - Self-directed, eager to learn, and works well alone or in a team - Can present to an internal audience on hardware/software issues and security policies - Ability to write purchase justifications5 years of experience with the following: Configure and Manage Centralized Logging and Audit Capabilities Enterprise Backup Solutions Hardware: Intel/AMD, Cisco, Sun/Oracle, Dell, Apple, EMC, NetApp Macintosh and iOS platform(s) MS Active Directory, LDAP SCCM, and Active Directory Strong Backup Experience and Proven Ability to Protect Mission Critical Data System Administration Technologies including DNS, DHCP, Proxy and Load Balancing UNIX platform, OSX, Cisco IOS Virtualization Technologies to include VM management, Snapshots, SANs and iSCSI Storage Systems VMWare ESXi and Associated Management Systems Windows Patch Management Windows Server Windows Server PlatformJob: 4048Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
