Job Number: 565 Riverside Research is seeking a Radar Data Scientist/Engineer to participate in and contribute to our radar research and development programs. We develop innovative solutions to challenging technical problems. Our staff members are involved in a variety of cutting-edge research activities related to radar processing technologies, and phased array radar. Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the successful resolution of engineering problems; evaluate the engineering problems based on available information, internal resources, open literature, etc.; assess feasibility of candidate solution approaches; implement/investigate/test technical approaches to problem solution.
  • Interact and collaborate frequently with company technical staff, as well as with partner organizations. This includes open discussions and presentation of proposed approaches, progress, issues, results.
  • Develop algorithms in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or C to solve a wide array of technical problems.
  • Document findings, communicate results to engineering staff, make technical presentations, and represent the organization as a technical contact on small identifiable projects.
  • Present report(s) at engineering meetings, participate in program reviews and consult on problems that are within the applicant's knowledge domain.
  • Participate in business development activities by innovating possible solutions based on ongoing work and contributing to targeted sections in proposals.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Secret clearance (ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security with SCI (TS/SCI) is required)
  • Education and Experience:
    • Degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or related technical field and progressively complex scientific experience as follows;
    • Bachelor's degree and four (4+) or more years' experience;
    • Master's degree and two (2+) or more years' experience;
    • Equivalent engineering/scientific experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Must have familiarity with some combination of radar data, radar imaging, classifiers, signal processing, and image processing.
  • Expertise with one or more of Matlab, C, Python.
  • Experience with Machine Learning and natural language processing.
  • Must have:
    • A good understanding of scientific concepts, principles, codes, and theory;
    • Experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts
    • An expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.
  • Must possess the ability to:
    • Understand new concepts quickly;
    • Apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment;
    • Organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases;
    • Determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems
  • Must have strong communication, writing, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team; able to perform complex tasks in one scientific area.

Desired Experience:
  • Application of big-data algorithms to improve processing/analysis performance of multi-channel, inphase and quadrature data.
  • Use of AI/ML algorithms in detection processing, track association, target classification, clutter mitigation, or radar resource planning.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
