Solidus is looking for an Embedded Software - FPGA Engineer to join a team that develops, builds, and operates prototype space and airborne lasercom terminals. Major efforts include demonstration of a low-cost, high performance, prototype airborne lasercom terminals, designed for the lasercom interoperability standards, development of a test capability to validate interoperability among various contractor-produced terminals, and investigation into techniques to enable multiple simultaneous lasercom links through a single aperture.

Some key skills we are looking for include VHDL, high speed networking protocol knowledge, proven track record delivering hardware, and signal processing.

Required skills: - U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Security Clearance. Active Secret preferred - BS and MS Degree plus 10 years relevant experience - 10 years of experience with the following: New Circuit Debugging Xilinx FPGA (Virtex FPGAs, and Ultrascale+ MPSoCs) Real-Time SW/Hardware FPGA Programming VHDL/Verilog ASIC, FPGA, VLSI, and Mixed Signal Circuit Design Digital Signal Processing Chip-Chip Level Dubuggng tools (Chipscope/Signal Tap) - 5 years of experience with 1G and 10G Ethernet protocol realization - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Experience with GateRocket hardware acceleration platforms - Able to function proficiently in an exclusive UNIX-based environment - In-depth knowledge of UNIX-based scripting, Xilinx ISE and Vivado, Modelsim/Questa, laboratory test equipment, network test equipment, and source code/revision control tools - Implementation experience with JESD204B interfaces and realization of high-performance DSP algorithms - Able to develop implementation architectures from requirements documents or high-level specifications/descriptions; use and maintain legacy IP and build environments; troubleshoot designs operating within an integrated system - Experience with DDR3 and DDR4 memory, terrestrial network standards, and design and debug of complex circuit boards.

Preferred: - Background in space programs is a HUGE plus - Knowledge of Matlab, Perl, TCL, System C, System Verilog is a plus
