Solidus is searching for a Software Engineer with extensive experience in software design, development, integration, testing and analysis in order to build network applications and network protocols for tactical systems. The candidate will be joining a team that specializes in advanced network and communications systems development, with a focus on tactical mobile, military airborne networks of the future. The team uses a combination of technical analysis, modeling, simulation, emulation, prototype development, and flight evaluation to develop new communication systems and evaluate and predict their performance under expected conditions.
The Developer should thrive in a rapid-prototyping environment with fast design-debug cycles. Python, C/C and/or Java are the primary languages for development with a preference for candidates that have strong skills in 2 out of 3 languages. Required skills: - U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Security Clearance. Active Secret preferred. - BS plus 4+ years of experience - Strong background in software development of network protocols such as IP routing, multicast, transport layer protocols and socket programming - Networking Applications and Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP and HTTP/S - C/C Programming - Development experience in a native Linux environment - Java Development - Object Oriented Software Design and Development - Python Programming/Scripting - Software Architecture, Design and Development - Software development of networking protocols - Hardware and Software Integration Preferred: - Master's Degree - Software defined networking framework (SDN Controllers - Ryu, ONOS; SDN Switch OS - Open vSwitch, Stratum; SDN interfaces - Northbound APIs, Southbound APIs; SDN Application Development - Routing, Topology Management) - Linux kernel networking and Linux OS networking configuration - Kernel/Drive/Module development (2+ years) - Revision Control Software such as GIT, SVN, Maven or Gradle, GITlab, Make / Autotools (2+ years) - Military or DoD wireless communications - Network modeling and simulation using tools such as Mininet, EMANE, CORE, OPNET, NS3 - Network protocol design, network performance monitoring - Modern devops procedures using git, ansible, packaging, CI/CD tools - Radio communications concepts (software-defined radios, MAC, physical layer, RF) Job ID: 4093Applicants selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
