Solidus is searching for a Software Engineer.

The successful candidate will join a team that develops advanced laser radar technology. The group is in need of a Software Engineer to develop, build, test, program, and maintain near real-time and high-performance computing solutions. These solutions are used for processing very large amounts of ladar data quickly and need to be high-performance, fault tolerant, and optimally utilized.

Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and support technical programs utilizing modern software & computer hardware techniques, programming tools, and support processing solutions for Laboratory program managers and technical staff. - Participate in defining, describing and implementing program deliverables/functionalities. - Evaluate and propose use of open source and commercial software, frameworks, and tools where applicable. - Able to work self-sufficiently on a small team of developers, and communicate ideas, issues, and accomplishments to the team. - On-call support of deployed systems

Required Skills: - US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Clearance, Active Secret preferred - BS +5 years of experience - Experience with Graph Theory related to cluster computing - Software/applications in order of experience required: SLURM, NFS, Linux cgroups, bash, Python, DRDB, Pacemaker, Docker, VPN, JSON - Hardware: High-performance computing, Xeon, network switches, SAN, UPS - Specifying, developing, building, testing and maintaining near real-time and high performance computing systems. - Willing to travel (about 1 week per quarter)

5 years experience with the Following: Scripting and Task Automation (e.g. server installation, patch management, configuration) Networking Applications and Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NTP, DHCP, SSH, FTP and HTTP/S. Networking experience (routers/switches/firewalls/servers) Network Systems Analysis SSH Server implementation, Linux Networking Configuration, Host Based Firewall, Web Server System Auditing, Hardening and Firewall Configurations Configuration of Distributed Environments, including NFS for Storage Hardware and Software Integration Linux environment System Administration Virtualization Technologies Virtualization Technologies to include VM management, Snapshots, SANs and iSCSI Storage Systems

3 years experience with the following: Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Software Documentation Cloud-based Solutions (e.g. AWS, AZURE, Google) Software Configuration Management Tools

Preferred Skills: - Software/applications: Lustre, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Elasticsearch, Amazon Web Services (AWS), C/C, QT, Matlab, MPI - Hardware: EPYC, GPUs 25 3 years experience with the following: Backend Programming (SQL) C/C Programming C11 or later, Stand Template Library,Boost library GIT/GITHUB JavaScript Development Object Oriented Software Design and Development Software Design/Development XML and SQL
