The Innovation Tech Acceleration Manger at the RBS Propulsion Lab is responsible for leading a small team of technical developers and leading the tech architecture for Lab and Innovation projects. The team is a strong technical team working on backend solutions, integration with diverse systems and data sources and some front-end development. The goal of the team is to develop software tools, solutions, microservices that help the Propulsion Lab's project teams work faster and reuse code as well as playing a collaborative consulting role to assist IT Production teams with scale-up to production (industrialization). The Innovation Acceleration team supports the innovation process from a technical standpoint and develops tools, techniques and best practices for accelerating the work within the Propulsion Lab and the Retail COE as well as work to transition and scale POCs and MVPs from the innovation stage to production. Like all teams within Innovation, this team collaborates across many areas and provides influence through thought leadership, experimental results and best practices. Note: This is a technical leadership role managing a team of 5-6 Software Developers. It requires previous hands-on Software Development experience as well as direct leadership of a team of Software Developers. The Acceleration Manager is expected to be able to architect technical solutions and lead best practices in Solution Architecture for the Propulsion Lab. Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in a technical area or non-technical area with strong hands-on software development experience or equivalent hands-on software development experience
- 7-11 years of experience in technical innovation, software development, technology teams, startups or other technical entrepreneurial areas
- 5+ years experience directly leading and managing software developers
- 5+ years hands-on experience with software development, coding or engineering
- Expertise in Solutions Architecture
- Understanding of current technology and software development tools and techniques
- Experience with managing and coordinating projects in an agile/RAD environment
- Retail or Retail Grocery Experience a plus
- Experience in Product Management a plus
