Position Title: UX Designer for InnovationPosition Location: Quincy, MA

Position Summary:For this Innovation UX Designer position, we're looking for someone with a strong desire and ability to follow Design Thinking principles with an Innovation twist to understand problems in Retail Grocery, to facilitate ideation and brainstorming, to understand current processes and design new processes and to envision technology solutions. The Propulsion Lab is the technology innovation arm at RBS. Our mission is to drive innovative thinking and behavior as we EXPLORE in-store problems, DESIGN solutions, EXPERIMENT with technology and ALIGN our work to value. Requirements Basic Qualifications:• 3-5 years experience working in a UX Design role• Bachelors or higher in a field related to Design or Human Factors• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Mural/Miro, FIGMA• Passion designing for solutions involving emerging technologies, which may include software apps, AR/VR, IoT, robotics, 3D printing, voice interaction, AI/ML and others • Must possess the ability to effectively communicate using strong verbal, written and listening skills• Ability to come up with creative ways to look at problems and solutions • Must be able to adapt quickly to change without being afraid to take on new responsibilities in a fast-paced team environment while being proactive and action-oriented• Retail or Retail Grocery Experience a plus

A Day in the Life: 3-5 bullets only (Make sure to sell your role!)• Collaborate with Product Owners and Retail COE to incorporate Design into projects • Lead Design Thinking and other Discovery workshops, often together with Product Owners• Conduct Design Thinking workshops/exercises to assist our Brands with understand their needs, ideate on or refine solutions, and determine the Value Propositions of solutions• Conduct interviews and usability testing with users for our Brands (Associates and Shoppers)• Conduct primary and secondary research • Facilitate understanding of projects, portfolios and Innovation Vision using visual design• Visually connect perspectives of Users/Brands to technology concepts• Develop better understanding of problems relevant to brands by identifying and defining personas, processes and their interrelationships and articulate these problems in text and visuals• Research, explore, evaluate, recommend solutions to problems relevant to the brands• Provide UX recommendations based on insights from research, best practices and usability testing• Use team-developed and industry best practices and work with team to improve on them• You look for ways to continue to improve our processes as contributor and member of the design team

What you Bring:• 3-5 years of experience with hands-on UX Design related primarily to software and service delivery• Bachelors or higher in a field related to Design or Human Factors• Creative can-do attitude that is proactive and not afraid to try something, fail and pivot• Ability to visualize concepts in a simple manner to improve understanding at all work levels • Attention to detail with the ability to start simple and iterative build on an idea or project• Comfortable within uncertainty and ability to shift between divergent and convergent thinking• Understanding how to connect technology to real-world value to improve the Customer Experience, the Associate Experience and improve productivity for the Jobs to be Done
