Senior Payroll Specialist

Sr. Payroll Specialist This person will play an integral role within our multi-state payroll team. In this role, you will support the payroll department in a variety of duties as a subject matter expert, and you will be responsible for full- cycle payroll processing. You should have the ability to communicate effectively, have exception organizational skills and have strong attention to detail. This position is third in a series of three classifications. Incumbents are distinguished from the Payroll Specialist I & II by performing advanced technical work, making independent judgments within established limits, and having some lead responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Data entry into Excel and the payroll system
  • Full cycle multi-state payroll processing without supervision
  • Assist with International payroll processing.
  • Process various payroll related tasks including new hires, terminations, and garnishments.
  • Calculate additional payment and adjustments when required.
  • Process administrative tasks such as the establishment of new tax jurisdictions.
  • Oversee payroll department communication inbox and communicate with employees regarding PTO/Sick accruals and general payroll questions.
  • Process tax amendments
  • Ensure compliance with overtime regulations (specifically in CA, AK, NV, CO)
  • Ensure final pay compliance.
  • Reconcile payroll and post to the GL.
  • Assist with special projects as required.
  • Provide management reporting.
  • Serve as a resource to the Payroll Specialist I & II on general payroll knowledge, compliance, and technical work as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years' full cycle experience
  • Payroll system experience (ADP WFN Preferred)
  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CPP preferred.
