Basic FunctionThis is an exciting opportunity to join a growing healthcare information technology business in the newly created position focusing on designing, building and implementing Data Warehousing (Synapse) Solutions in Microsoft Azure as an Azure Data Warehouse Engineer. Reporting to the Clinical Effectiveness, Customer Data Management's Principal Application and Product Architect, you will play an important role in the designing, building, and implementing Azure Data Warehousing (Synapse) Solutions as well as maintaining existing Azure Data Warehouses and Databases. The Azure Data Warehouse Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing Data Warehousing(Synapse) Solutions, Building Azure Data Factory Pipelines, and extracting data from our source systems into the company's Health Data Lake based on our company's data and reporting requirements from complex use cases. This is a tremendous opportunity for someone with a passion for developing and implementing complete Azure Data Warehousing Solutions to help transform the Client Data Management area of a leading healthcare information technology company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with the data analysts, product management, and senior data engineering teams in order to power insight and avail meaningful data products for the business and enable consistently informed management decisions.
  • Design, create, and implement Azure Data Warehousing (Synapse) Solutions.
  • Creates and supports ETL processes in order to facilitate the accommodation of data into the warehouse using Azure Data Factory and other technologies.
  • Provides day-to-day support of the data warehouse(s) and troubleshoots existing procedures and process.
  • Defines and promotes the department's best practices and design principles for Azure Data Warehousing techniques and architecture.
  • Improve data organization and accuracy
  • Assists in the development of business intelligence, business data standards, and processes.
  • Supports the business's daily operations inclusive of troubleshooting of the business's data intelligence warehouse environment and job monitoring
  • Identifying any new data needs and deliver mechanisms for acquiring and reporting such information as well as addressing the actual needs.
  • Designs and supports the business's database and table schemas for new and existent data sources for the Data Warehouse
  • Works closely with other disciplines/departments and teams across the business in coming up with simple, functional, and elegant solutions that balance data and reporting needs across the business.
  • Partners with Data Analytics and other Azure Data Engineers to refine the business's data requirements, which must be met for building and maintaining Data Warehouses.
  • Quickly and thoroughly analyze business requirements for reporting and analysis and subsequently translating the results into good technical data designs.
  • Documentation of reports, develops, and maintains technical specification documentation for all reports and processes.
  • Provide technical expertise to the business on business intelligence data architecture and also on structured approaches for transitioning manual applications and reports to the business.

Job QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related field
Experience:
  • 5 plus years in SQL Server Databases and Warehousing
  • 5 plus years in Azure Data Warehousing (working knowledge of Synapse is a plus).
  • 5 plus years in Microsoft's ETL and ELT processes using SSIS and Azure Data Factory
  • 5 plus years of T-SQL with strong hands on experience in developing complex queries.
  • Hands on experience in creating both logical and physical data models.
  • Working knowledge of Azure Dev/Ops and source control using GIT.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of dimensional modeling as well as other data warehousing techniques.
  • Experience working with Power BI or any other business analytics platforms.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Communication skills in the drafting of clear and understandable data designs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Approachable and likable inspiring trust and a feeling of dependability in others, hence, giving more credibility to insights and directives in the view of collaborating personnel, senior management, and colleagues.
  • Experience working on projects within a collaborative setting composed of cross-functional, technical, and non-technical personnel.in
