What You Will Get To Do:

As a Cloud architect you will work with leadership, product, UI/UX, quality, operations, and engineering teams to own and drive a consistent vision for our technology evolution. You will leverage your experience as both a software and cloud architect to influence decision making processes to produce superior outcomes for our teams. You will help guide the teams to strike the right balance between solutions we build, buy, or partner with and advocate for the technology standards that allow us to accelerate the realization of our product vision. Specific activities include:

Engage with teams to drive the roadmap for cloud platform architecture in collaboration with other architects, product owners, UI/UX, engineering, and operations teams.
Provide guidance and expertise in the platform portfolio of services, complex data ecosystems, big data, high compute clusters, and modern IaaS/PaaS or cloud-native deployment models, focusing on well-architected principles (cost optimization, resiliency, performance, operational excellence, security, etc.).
Create and sustain reference architecture patterns, standards, and processes which can be reused to accelerate adoption of cloud native approaches.
Enable cloud platform engineering and operational teams as well as application owners/project teams to share innovative approaches through appropriate review and guidance processes.
Contribute to the production-ready architectural design of business applications, focusing on IaaS/PaaS designs by defining cloud policies, standards, guidelines, and reference materials
Present technical roadmaps to the executive level one day, and on another day might dive deep into the code with our engineers to help them identify, evaluate, and develop plans of action.
Identify and evaluate new technologies relevant to the business; construct proofs of concept (POCs), as needed.
Listen, share, and collaborate with many teams.

What You Will Bring:

5+ years' experience delivering secure, public-facing, highly available SaaS platform(s) in a lead role
5+ years architecting and designing SaaS platform(s) with a public cloud provider
5+ years communicating at the executive level to drive awareness and decision making for business enabling technology decisions
10+ years defining architecture to meet non-functional requirements (e.g., performance, stability, reliability, availability, fault tolerance, recoverability, maintainability, and interoperability)

Highly Desirable Experience

Amazon Web Services (AWS), including architecture, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of a SaaS product; hands-on experience with most common AWS tools, resources, and services
Containerized application development (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.)
Microservice architectures (REST, service discovery, routing, service mesh, etc.).
Real-time data streaming (Kinesis, Kafka, Storm, Spark, Flink)
Complex workflow orchestration
SDLC automation (CI/CD)
Networking, Security, and Authentication/Authorization standards and best practices
