Successful bus. owner seeking dynamic, driven Veteran for new venture (Pittsfield)

Massachusetts, Western massachusetts 00000 Western massachusetts USA

Vacancy expired!

I am a Veteran and currently I am ONLY seeking fellow Veterans for this opportunity.

Thank you for your interest! I own a successful business in a major metropolitan area and run it remotely from Pittsfield so I can be with my family/kids. After a year and a half of training and guidance my apprentice is adequately handling the day-to-day operations of that business. As a consequence I now have the time/motivation and am ready to get started on this new business, and in the process let an idea/venture that has been incubating and evolving for a decade actually hatch.

I've started a company once before alone, and this time around I'm looking for a partner. Two heads are usually better than one. Preferably you would have the ability to be able to take a leap of faith and support yourself for a while until income is being generated. How long that takes would be dependent on your intensity and commitment, especially in early stages. If this part isn't an option for you, I do have the means to actually hire someone, but would prefer the commitment of a true partner rather than an employee. However, if the right person came along I might be persuaded to take on my first paid employee.

I am very comfortable with my skills as an executive. What this potential partnership needs is someone who is an EXECUTOR who can follow direction and guidance to completion. Take the plan, improve on it if you can, then go out and make it happen. Improvise, adapt, and overcome along the way. You will receive plenty of top-level involvement but you need 100% of the initiative to execute. This can't be taught at this point in your life and must be innate. A big part of the responsibilities would be managing the steps and projects involved with rolling out a new business, and the partners we need to assist us with that. The only other requirements are that you reside within an hour's drive of Pittsfield MA so that we could get together when we feel we need to, and you are male (spending hours on end with another female is not in my future wife's plans nor mine). It is highly likely you could work mostly from home and telecommute.

When we meet, I will give you the full presentation of the new venture at that time (you would need to sign a confidentiality agreement). If you are the right person for this partnership, you will become a wealthier person than you are right now, probably in more ways than one. Perhaps more importantly, it will be an incredibly fulfilling job/career/life.

TO EXPRESS INTEREST in this opportunity, please follow these steps:

To reduce the number of unqualified applicants, I prefer that instead of hitting the reply button, you send a separate email, from your own email address, to we shred for you at g mail (minus the spaces). In your subject line, type the pay grade you achieved upon getting out of the military - (an E or an O followed by a number); then your MOS/NEC/AFCS or whatever you called it in your branch; followed by the city you live in. It should look something like this: "E4 - 11B - Albany". It actually doesn't matter if you got out as a private or an admiral, this is pretty much how I make sure someone can follow directions. Next, in the body of the email, give me a one paragraph introduction to yourself and why you think you are the one for the job (NOT a resume). Lastly, attach something or some things to your email. This can be anything you want a resume, a picture of yourself, maybe your family tree that shows direct lineage to George Washington, or anything you think would give me insight into who you are as a person.

You may be wondering why I am posting this on Craigslist and not on some more professional website. My answer to that question is that Craigslist has brought an abundance of joy into my life to date. I'm a big believer in fate and chance. It's the risk-takers who drive progress in this world.
