The Girls Club of Greenfield is looking for an Infant/Toddler Teacher.

Education Qualifications: EEC teacher certified; Associates Degree in Education or related field;

In addition, Emergency First Aid and CPR will be required.

1. Be responsible for the education and care of the children in our agency. Be aware that safety is our number one priority.

2. Teachers will follow the Girls Club mission and philosophy in their teaching. Our

emphasis is on building self-esteem by offering many experiences for the child and by

using only positive language. This is exemplified by a non-violent, non-sexist, non-ageist,

non-racist exploration of our environment.

3. Be familiar with Department of Early Education and Care regulations. Teachers must meet EEC requirements for course work, experience and first aid training.

4. Work independently and with co-teachers and Site Director to plan and prepare a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and experiential. Teaching Strategies Gold are the tools we use. Be certain to take into consideration the cognitive, physical and social needs of the particular children in your group and to construct a rich and varied program and classroom.

5. Participate in monthly team meetings. Keep an open dialogue concerning children, room arrangement, developmental curriculum ideas and team dynamics.

6. Maintain effective communication with parents. Offer feedback concerning children’s daily activities and successes.

7. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism both as a teacher at the Girls Club and as an

employee of the Girls Club.

8. Report equipment and supply needs to the Lead Teacher.

9. Serve meals and snacks in accordance with USDA guidelines. Also, be aware of particular allergies of individual children.

10. Be responsible for daily light cleaning and for maintaining as orderly an atmosphere as possible. Enforce proper care and use of building and equipment.

11. Attend bi-monthly site meetings, from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.

12. Full time Teachers are required to have 20 hours of training and/or course work each year, with one-third special needs training.

13. Act as mandated reporter in suspected cases of abuse or neglect.
