We are seeking a Homeless Prevention Outreach Counselor for our Housing Consumer Education Department (HCEC).
Responsibilities include client intake, assessment, and counseling. Duties include working with challenging client/tenant situations; managing data entry and database tracking; statistical reporting; following guidelines and requirements of HCEC funding sources; facilitating Housing workshops; outreach activities to clients and community; attending required meetings and trainings. This position will travel throughout Hampden and Hampshire County to provide outreach and prevention services to clients in the community, at community based agencies and at housing court.
This position requires an individual who is flexible and able to cross-train and assist in other areas within the department when needed. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant subject matter such as social services; minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant field is required. Must have reliable vehicle and clean license. Wage between $15.73-$18.86/hour depending on qualifications plus excellent benefits.
