About the Position:

Fountain Plating Company, Inc. (FPC) is seeking a Painter to work 1rd shift at our West Springfield, MA facility. Painters will perform operations of good industrial painting (aerospace engine parts) following standard aerospace practices. Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for prepping various parts for paint

Mixing paint to manufacturing requirements

Ability to work under minimal direction

Cooperate and communicate with co-workers and personnel in other departments

Verify parts are masked correctly

Spray paint to correct thickness (critical part of the job)

Ability to paint fixed and rotating parts

Knowledge of paint equipment and proper cleaning techniques

Visually inspect parts for cleanliness before and after painting process to ensure customer compliance

Responsible for the proper use and care of all tools, racks, fixtures, equipment and materials utilized in processing

Is responsible to follow all Company rules, safety regulations and policies as required

Responsible for good housekeeping in work areas

Is required to perform sufficient work to meet and maintain established production schedules

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

Painter works inside a paint booth wearing a full-face respirator, safety glasses, Tyvec suit and gloves the entire time they paint for approximately 6 hours per day 5 days per week

Painter works in a 70 degree clean room and are exposed to fumes from alcohol, acetone and Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK)

Unassisted heavy lifting of 40-50 lb. parts on a consistent basis

3 breaks per 8 hour shift; one 10 minute break in the morning, one in the afternoon and a 30 minute meal break mid-day

Desired Skills & Experience:

Basic computer skills

Good communication skills

Ability to read and understand blueprints

Required education:

High school or equivalent

In-House Training:

Initial training will be provided on 1st shift (7:00 am - 3:00 pm)

Pre-employment Requirements:

Upon offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to successfully pass the following pre-employment requirements: DOT drug screen and criminal history (CORI) background check.
